About Our School

Welcome to Andover High School, home of the Trojans! Andover High is a place of not only excellence, but also of tremendous possibilities. The extraordinarily talented students and teachers are committed to accomplishing exciting and meaningful experiences together. Whether it’s in athletics, the arts, journalism, debate or in the classroom, students at Andover High are engaged and inspired.

Andover High School has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students and moved into a new facility opened in the fall of 2020. Although our facilities are new, we maintain our “old school” traditions. The annual Trojan Night class competition is held every fall. This event has been going on for over 50 years and continues to be a community wide activity. Athletics and activities compete in Class 5A of the Kansas State High School Athletics Association as members of the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League.

Andover High School provides students a rigorous educational program where students are challenged and expectations are high. Our school year is divided into two semesters that allow for a total of 175 instructional days. Each day consists of seven periods. Students earn 0.5 credit for each course passed during the semester with a total of twenty-five credits needed to graduate. Grade point averages are figured on a 4.0 unweighted scale and on a varied 4.5 - 5.0 weighted scale. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit through fourteen Advanced Placement (AP) courses and many concurrent dual credit courses offered through Butler Community College. We partner with Wichita State University Tech and Butler Community College to offer students half day academy programs. Students can earn an associate degree or certificate in their desired pathway.

Andover High School strives to support all students as they prepare themselves to thrive as global citizens in a rapidly changing world. Our students’ develop knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and nurture their creativity and resilience. Students at Andover High School have been National Merit Finalists, Rudd Scholarship recipients, Kansas Scholars Curriculum completers and many other top academic recognitions. In addition to many team and individual Kansas State High School Activities Association State Championships, our students thrive in the performing arts. The marching band, choirs, orchestra and theater programs provide students with top notch opportunities and incredible performances.

Our students are empowered to become resilient learners who are positive and collaborative members of society. Go Trojans!
