Federal Student Aid

FAFSA information

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is mandatory for all US students who want to be considered for financial aid. Most educational institutions use the FAFSA to access a student's eligibility for grants, loans, and work-study programs.

While the FAFSA is not required for all college applications, many schools, including the University of Kansas, require students to complete it to be eligible for financial aid. Students can add up to 10 schools to their FAFSA, and their information is automatically sent to the schools so they can review their financial need and create financial aid packages.
